EGYPT MEDAL with SUAKIN 1885 clasp named to: 5619 PTE. J. FARMER. 1/COLD GDS. with Khedive’s Star 1884-6 named to the reverse to 5619 1.C.G.
John Farmer is confirmed on the medal roll for the Egypt medal with Suakin 1885 clasp. He was a 24 year old quarryman, born in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, when he attested into the Coldstream Guards on the 1st July 1883 having enlisted at Grantham, Lincs, the week prior. He served for close to 10 years.
