The unit saw action at Morosi’s Mountain Stronghold 1879 and Basutoland in 1880, suffering many casualties. Promoted to 2nd Lieutenant Cape Mounted Yeomanry 6. 5. 81, Basuto war 1880 -81. Not on the medal roll, either died before or didn’t apply for the medal when announced in 1900.
