Exquisite Quality Seringapatam Medal 1808.
An opportunity to buy this exceptional quality medal suspended on a very high quality, ornate, buckle with highly decorative Seringapatam clasp.
This is a Silver Example British Issue 48mm Dia Soho Birmingham Mint with an Ornate Suspension – Silver Seringapatam (Not Hallmarked) with ornate Claw Buckle – Medals were original issue without suspension & not named but many Officers had suspensions created and some are privately engraved – this is un-named but like to be to a senior officer due to cost of having the ornate suspension and clasp.
Presented in an old leather case, hence it being in such outstanding condition. The box is named London & Ryder 17 New Bond Street corner of Gifford Street. London and Ryder were principle assistants to Hancocks, the maker of the Victoria Cross which may explain the quality of the suspension etc.
