Thomas Keating was born in Guilsfield, Welshpool, Montgomeryshire and was 14 years old when he attested into the 35th Brigade in 1881. His papers, see attached, record that the transferred from the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry (D.C.L.I.) to the Devon Regiment in 1892.
He was a Boy Bugler with the DCLI and was appointed Bandsman 1888.
The QSA medal roll confirms the medal and clasps. He was discharged, medically unfit, 24th February 1901, Sergeant, Devonshire Regiment.
