Boer War 1914 star medal group

A good Anglo Boer War and Great War medal group to Ernest John Spencer who was discharged wounded 30th April 1915 whilst serving with the Royal Sussex Regiment.

Spencer was born in Hastings, East Sussex and he was a 17 year old labourer when he enlisted into the 3rd Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment at Chichester in November 1900 with  service number 8388. Medal roll of the 3rd Battalion confirms medal and clasps.

His Great War service saw him entering France 27th August 1914 with 2nd Battalion Royal Sussex. Medal Index card and medal rolls confirm awards. He was discharged wounded with Silver War Badge  858862, discharged 30th April 1915.
