15th London Regiment Great War Pair commissioned 1917

Born 24th October 1891 Tillott enlisted February 1916 into the Civil Service Rifles (15th London Regiment). He entered France 28th July 1916 and subsequently arrived on the Somme 23rd August 1916 and took part in the Battle of High Wood 15th September 1915. Tillott returned to the UK February 1917 and was found to be suffering otitis media and declared unfit for further overseas service. November 1917 saw him commissioned (London Gazette 23rd January 194 in the Labour Corps and he was demobilised 1st November 1919.

He is on the medal roll for the 19th London Regiment which confirms his 15th London and Labour Corps service.

He was recalled December 1939 and joined a unit of the Royal Army Pay Corps at Portsmouth on 2nd January 1940. He moved, with the unit to Leeds via London where he stayed until 1946. In august 1946 he joined the B.M.A. Somalia at Mogadishu where he stayed until April 1950. The final 6 months were within the Foreign Office.
