Western Front medal pair to Casualty Private Robert Hutchinson, 12th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment who was Killed in Action 3rd February 1917 aged 34 years.

On the 3rd February 1917 at Railway Wood, Hutchinson was one of 4 other ranks killed along with 2 officers also killed. The war diary also adds that 13 more soldiers were either missing or wounded.

Robert Hutchinson was born 1883. Son of Henry March Hutchinson, of “Torrington Cottage,” Minster, Kent; husband of Nellie Warner (formerly Hutchinson), of 50, Dalmally Rd., Addiscombe, Croydon.
